Our Origin Story

The Leadership and Liberty Institute didn't start from scratch — it was built on a proven foundation. What began as a bold commitment by Indiana Republican Party Chairman Kyle Hupfer in 2018 became the Indiana Republican Diversity Leadership Series (IRDLS): a nationally recognized program that trained minority leaders, sent six graduates to the ballot in 2023, and changed Indiana politics forever. In February 2025, we took that legacy and launched something bigger.
